CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Meet Elizabeth Saladin, MD

Elizabeth was homeschooled through high school and found her calling in medicine after breaking both femurs at age 15, an experience that sparked her fascination with biology and deepened her empathy for others. Without physicians in her family to model the path, she leaned on the encouragement of those who believed in her. She earned her B.S. in biology/chemistry from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2006 and went on to attend Howard University in Washington, D.C., graduating in 2010. After completing her Family Medicine residency in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2013, she committed her career to serving Native communities, working four years with the Eastern Band of Cherokee in North Carolina and five years with the Absentee Shawnee Tribe in Oklahoma.

In 2019, she became board certified in Obesity Medicine, motivated by a desire to prevent disease rather than simply treat its consequences. Having personally struggled with weight fluctuations, she embraces a comprehensive, four-pillar approach: nutrition, physical activity, behavioral health, and medication. She focuses on sustainable habits—mindful eating, realistic fitness goals, therapy, regular checkups, and prioritizing sleep—while also advocating for the recognition of obesity as a complex, chronic, multifactorial disease that requires appropriate diagnosis and long-term treatment. Passionate about weight management, Dr. Saladin finds that helping others improve their health keeps her mindful and committed to her own well-being each day.
